From the 3rd August 2011 Balvicar Stores and Post Office is under new management! Mark and Shirley Yearsley have finally moved up to Seil and we are delighted to be settling in to our new business. We are here to serve locals and holiday makers alike so if there is anything you need just come in and have a chat.

Centrally situated on the Isle of Seil in the village of Balvicar, Balvicar Stores is currently open Mon - Fri 8.30 - 7.30pm, Sat 9.00 - 7.30pm and Sunday 9.30 - 5pm. We carry a wide range of groceries and household goods as well as offering chilled and fresh food. There is an exceptionally well stocked off-licence with beers from local and national breweries as well as wines and spirits from round the world. And then there’s the whisky!!

The news agency carries the usual range of national and local papers plus magazines. If you are coming here on holiday you can order your papers and magazines in advance by email. In fact, you can order your shopping by emailing us before you leave home if you want.

Fresh bread baked in store is available every day, and there is a wide range of goods available in the frozen and chilled cabinets, including delicious local beef and lamb. Hot snacks and coffee are available.

Other services include Calor and Camping Gaz for yachtsmen or motor caravanners, maps and local guidebooks, coal and kindling for your fire, bedding plants in the Spring and much more.

The fully computerised Post Office means handy local banking; you can deposit or withdraw money from some of the major banks. There is an ATM for cash withdrawals (charges may apply).
